Allison Holker is living her dream after just giving birth to her son, Maddox, on Easter Sunday 2016. During her third season as a pro on ABC’s hit competition series “Dancing with the Stars,” she announced her pregnancy live on air and continued to dance & perform through her 5th month of pregnancy.
In Season 20, Holker & her partner Riker Lynch were “DWTS” runner-ups for the mirror ball trophy. In 2013, Holker was nominated with Derek Hough for a 2013 Best Choreography Emmy® award for their work. She was also a featured dancer in two of the other nominated pieces that year. And, along with her fellow Emmy-nominated choreographers, Holker prepared a piece that was performed to rave reviews at that year’s Primetime Emmy Awards with Neil Patrick Harris.
Best known to television audiences for her amazing performances as a competitor & All-Star dancer & choreographer on Fox’s hit dance competition series “So You Think You Can Dance,” Holker also showcased her impressive dancing and acting skills as a Los Angeles Devil Girl cheerleader/dancer in the first two seasons of VH1’s television series “Hit The Floor.”
Holker first burst onto the scene when she competed in season 2 of “So You Think You Can Dance.” Her skill & popularity led to an invitation to return as an All-Star in season 7, where she met fellow dancer Stephen “tWitch” Boss. They got married in December 2013. She continued as an All-Star for several years.
In 2012, Holker co-choreographed and hosted the television show “A Chance to Dance” (Ovation TV) and was featured in Oxygen’s dance series “All the Right Moves.” Before she was a pro, she also joined forces with Derek Hough to choreograph various guest performances on “Dancing with the Stars” (including their Emmy-nominated collaboration). Aside from being featured in numerous television commercials, other credits include the hit FOX drama “House” and the pilot “Grace.” Holker was also on-screen in the dance film “Make Your Move,” and can be seen in both installments of Disney’s hit movie franchise “High School Musical.” She also appeared in “Cobu 3D” and co-starred in the dance documentary “Movement One.”
In 2008, she starred in the tap show “Revolution” (Joyce Theatre/ New York) and has performed with various artists including Sia, Pitbull, Demi Lovato, Fifth Harmony, Jessie J, Jack Black, Clay Aiken, Enrique Inglesias, Earth Wind & Fire, Christina Perri, Train, and Rihanna. Holker has also been a featured performer on “X Factor,” “America’s Got Talent,” “American Idol,” and “Ellen.”
Holker began her dance training at the age of nine when she enrolled as a student at The Dance Club in Orem, UT. While there she began to specialize in Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz and Tap, & performed in the opening & closing ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics. Since then she has won numerous dance titles including her first National competition in Co DANCE in 2004 and as the National Senior Outstanding Dancer at the New York City Dance Alliance in 2005.
She and her husband Boss collaborated as choreographers for Ellen DeGeneres’ 2014 Oscars® promo directed by “Bridesmaids’” Paul Feig & featuring 250 dancers. They’ve also created a couture costume line with Revolution Dancewear called Tenth House (www.tenthhousedance.com).
When she’s not filming or touring or traveling around the country teaching dance, she also is a co-founder of CLI Studios, an online dance class/studio program.
Holker makes her home in Los Angeles with her 8-year-old daughter, new baby son Maddox & her husband. In 2015, Holker was nominated for a Teen Choice Award as Choice Dancer of the Year.
